Of Lilacs and Giants
Sunday, May 7th – Dani Reese ran among giants of the coniferous sort in the Avenue of the Giants Marathon at Humboldt Redwoods State Park, California. Despite the warmer weather, Dani finished strong in 3:13:08, placing 4th overall woman. She wrote on Instagram, “The marathon is a humbling experience. It can make you feel small and insignificant. This was not the race I had hoped for but my legs carried me 26.2 miles and for that I am always grateful.”
Meanwhile in Spokane, Washington Liz Anjos ran the historic Lilac Bloomsday Run 12K, known for its hilly course including the infamous “Doomsday Hill” for the second year in row. She bettered her previous time by six seconds for 47:26 and placed fifth in her age group.
